Victory PS and GCVI students celebrate La célebration de la Francophonie en Ontario

GUELPH, Ontario – On September 25, students from Victory Public School and Guelph Collegiate Vocational Institute gathered at Guelph City Hall for La célebration de la Francophonie en Ontario.
Guelph Mayor, Cam Guthrie, spoke briefly at the event about how September 25 is the day to celebrate Franco-ontarian heritage. He recognized the length of French heritage in Ontario, as well as the importance of knowing another language.
The celebration ended with the raising of the Franco-ontarian flag while the students from UGDSB and the two Francophone boards in Guelph sang “Mon Beau Drapeau” together.
In total approximately 115 students from Victory PS and 55 students from Guelph CVI participated in the event.
