School Council enables parents/caregivers of students and interested community members of CWDHS to be connected with what’s going on at school. Parents, teachers and other community members meet to exchange ideas, express opinions and provide updates on past events, upcoming events and opportunities for students. It’s also a great way to meet new people and fellow parents from your community.

You don’t have to be an ‘official member’ of the Council to attend the meetings which take place at school on the last Monday of each month – all are welcome. Normally lasting 1½ hours, we usually have a guest speaker who will present on a topic of interest and our Principal updates us on happenings from the past month.

We typically don’t do any fundraising. Instead, we strive to help minimize the school’s costs where we can. For example, we volunteer a few hours each school year to distribute report cards to students to avoid the mailing costs of over 1200 report cards.

We welcome all parents/caregivers of students of CWDHS to join us at our meetings. There is no commitment required…come when you can! It is a great opportunity to see what is happening at your teenager’s school.
