Welcome back! Here’s how you can prepare for the return to school
August 30, 2021
GUELPH, Ontario – The Upper Grand District School Board is so excited to welcome students and staff back this September, whether it is in-person or through remote learning. We’re also looking forward to meeting those students who are new to our school board.
As we prepare to welcome you back, know that the UGDSB is committed to keeping students and staff safe by following the latest safety protocols from Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health and the Ministry of Education.
Like last year, this school year will look a little bit different. Families can find all re-opening information in the 2021-22 School Operations: Student and Family Guide. This guide provides information about in-person and remote learning, safety protocols that will be in place, ventilation, school day operations, transportation and more. This guide can be found on the board website.
As a reminder to students and parents/guardians, the UGDSB has many resources available to help families throughout the school year.
Resources include:
- Mental Health website for students – Mental Health and Me is a comprehensive resource for students.
- Mental Health website for parents/guardians – Mental Health: Child, Youth and Family Well-Being provides parents/guardians with targeted mental health resources, including information on upcoming parent/guardian webinars.
- Parent Tech Help – We know that navigating the online world isn’t always the easiest. The UGDSB Parent Support Portal can help parents/guardians by providing tech support information from report card help to navigating the Google Classroom.
Stay connected this school year
As we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s more important than ever to stay connected this school year as we share the latest board news.
Families can stay connected and learn the latest UGDSB news by checking the board website – www.ugdsb.ca, and by checking school websites.
Parents/guardians and students can also download the UGConnect app which is available for Android and iPhone.
Along with following the UGDSB on social media, parents/guardians are encouraged to read the monthly UGDSB Together newsletter which comes out at the end of each month and will be shared on the board website and through social media.
