Mid November Update
Dear Aberfoyle Families-With so much happening at Aberfoyle this month, we wanted to send a quick mid-month update with some reminders and new information.
Absences
We have had high numbers of absences over the past few weeks. This is a reminder that we are asked to screen our children each day using the Provincial School Screener. If your child is sick, please keep them home until their symptoms have been improving for 24 hours (48 hours for nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea).

The Province and the Board are strongly recommending masking in indoor settings, but this remains optional and we will continue to ensure our learning environments are respectful and supportive of an individual’s personal choice.
Progress Reports and Interviews
Beginning Thursday, November 17th, 2022, parents and guardians can download their child’s Progress Report from our school’s website.
Please see this link if you have any questions about how to access your child’s report card: https://www.ugdsb.ca/parents/connected/ and notify your child’s teacher if you need their OEN number.
Homeroom teachers will send out information about how to sign up for parent/teacher interviews. There is a PA Day on November 25 for interviews (no school for students).
Indoor Shoes
With the arrival of snow, we need to ensure everyone has indoor shoes (yes, even our intermediates!). This helps keep our learning environment clean and students safe from slips and falls.
School Council Meeting
We have a council meeting this evening at the school at 5pm. If you would like to be kept informed about meeting dates, please email [email protected]
Movie Night
On Thursday, November 24th School Council will be showing SONIC the Hedgehog 2 in the Gym.
Arrival is 6:15 pm. The movie will begin at 6:35 pm.
The movie’s runtime is 2 hours. The event will end at approximately 8:35 pm.
Tickets will be $5 and are purchased through School Cash Online. The ticket will include a bottle of water and a small bag of chips. Please note we can only sell a limited number of tickets due to our gym’s capacity. Once the first 200 tickets are sold the ticket sales will close.
No tickets will be sold at the event.
School cash online tickets purchased will be sent home with the eldest or only child.
All children must be supervised by a ticket-bearing adult family member.
Get comfy! Wear your Pyjamas or comfy clothes. Bring blankets and pillows to get cozy for our floor seating. Those who need a chair may bring a folding chair but will be required to sit toward the back of the gym not to obstruct viewing.
Spirit Wear Orders
Grad wear order forms are going home today and are due November 22nd.

You will receive a payment request through School Cash Online once your paper order arrives at the school.
Lunchbox Order
