Updates For January 3-7, 2022

Posted January 5, 2022

Welcome back virtually Alma PS families!  I am so proud of the transition everyone is making with online learning.  From students to families, to staff, everyone is working very hard to make the best of things.  This is what Alma PS is all about and I’m sure our kids will be learning so much from our positive attitudes and efforts in these challenging times.

Here’s the 5 things you need to know today:

1.  We have loaned out over 40 Chromebooks to families in need of technology to support our online learning.  If you are in need of one, we still have a few more, so be sure to fill out the link sent to your email on January 5 and we can arrange a pickup time.

2.  As you adjust to logging in, if you are having challenges with Google Classroom, please reach out to your child’s teacher.  We are here to help!

3.  We are very fortunate to have Ms. Davina Koerner helping to cover for Madame McDougall for the next little while.  She will be helping to support our grade 1/2 class as well as our French program.  If you have questions, please connect with her in your child’s Google Classroom or contact her via email at [email protected].

4.  As most of our staff are working from home, email is our preferred method of communication at this time.  Please feel free to email your child’s teacher or for general questions, please send an email to [email protected].

5.  Please remember as you and your family approach online learning that we at Alma PS know you are doing your best.  We know that this is not an easy transition for all.  Please encourage your children to do the best they can with online learning, and we are here to help, but please do not let online learning add excess pressure to your lives at this time.  We trust that easier days are ahead and will work diligently to support your children as we return to in-person learning.  Thank you for all that you are doing to support your children.  It means so much!

Thanks as always for being such a supportive community.  We have all really felt a strong sense of determination and support as we work through this change together.  If there is any support you need, please ask.  We are here to help!
