2013 results from the Regional Technological Skills Competition for secondary students

GUELPH, Ontario — Gold medal winners from recent Regional Skills Competitions held in the Upper Grand and Wellington Catholic school boards will soon be proceeding to the Ontario Technological Skills Competitions in Waterloo May 6-8, 2013.
In several competitions was necessary for our competitors to compete in a qualifying round that was held on Saturday, April 20th at Georgian College in Barrie. Results of those competitions are below.
“I want to congratulate all of the students and teachers involved in these events, and extend a special thank you to the teachers who organized and hosted competitions,” said Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) co-ordinator Ron Aimola.
“They are a wonderful forum for the students to showcase their talents.”

- Culinary Arts – Second Place: Clayton of Centre Dufferin DHS received a certificate of achievement, and will advance to Provincials.
- Individual Carpentry – Second Place: Mitchell of Wellington Heights SS, he will proceed to Provincials.
- Small Powered Equipment – First Place: Andy from Norwell DSS, he will proceed to Provincials.
- TV Video – Third Place: Anders and Alex, Centre Wellington DHS. They will proceed to Provincials.
- Welding – Second Place: Joe, Orangeville DSS, will proceed to Provincials.
