For Immediate Release
March 9, 2016

GUELPH, Ontario – The Career Education Council (CEC) of Guelph-Wellington-Dufferin is inviting leaders from the education sector and business world to join them at their annual networking breakfast.

The CEC is a registered charity dedicated to bringing business, education and community organization together to provide meaningful career development opportunities for youth, while building the future workplace.

The CEC’s Annual Business & Education Partnership Breakfast promotes dialogue and discussion between leaders from both sectors, while celebrating examples of student success in preparing for a future career.

This year’s annual partnership breakfast will feature guest speaker Jamie McMillan. McMillan works in school and community outreach as the founder of Journeymen & KickAss Careers. She established the grassroots initiative to promote equitable social representation across all occupations. At the CEC breakfast, McMillan will speak about her 13-year career in construction and experience as an ironworker, boilermaker and welder on sites across Canada.

Students will also be present to speak about their workplace experiences.

All funds raised from the breakfast will support CEC career programs for youth.
