Centennial CVI student Nick P. was presented with the Junior Citizen of the Year Award by the Guelph Police Service at their annual Awards and Recognitions night on May 20, 2015.

The Junior Citizen Award is given annually to a young citizen of Guelph who has been involved in a police related incident. The award is to provide recognition to young citizens who contribute to the community by assisting the Guelph Police Service in keeping our city a safe place to live, work and play.

Nick’s contact with the Guelph Police occurred when he stopped after noticing something not right, an action that ultimately saved an elderly man’s life.

“Every community has young stars and they deserve to be recognized when they step up and do the right things,” says a statement from Centennial CVI. “Congratulations to Nick. Your contribution to our community is remarkable. We are proud to celebrate with you and thank you for your efforts to better the lives of others.”
