Aberfoyle PS takes home gold and silver at regional cardboard boat competition

FERGUS, Ontario – Aberfoyle Public School placed in the top two spots at the Skills Ontario Cardboard Boat competition in Fergus on February 5.

Aberfoyle’s Team 1 came in second place and took home the silver medal. They had a time of 25 seconds, total weight of 506 pounds and technical score of 26.75 with a total score of 94.75. Judges and spectators admired the pirate ship theme.

Team 2 won the gold medal with a time of 22.5 seconds, they had a total weight of 408 lbs and a technical score of 27.75 for a total of 95.75 points. Judges and spectators liked the decoration on the boat and its campfire theme.

Both teams will be attending the provincial competition in Waterloo on March 6.
