Arbour Vista PS safety patrollers honoured with an award
June 27, 2019
GUELPH, Ontario – Earlier this year, bus patrollers Justin and Jonathan at Arbour Vista Public School acted quickly in a situation and because of this quick thinking were recognized with a CAA award.
CAA South Central Ontario awarded the CAA Patroller of the Year to brothers Justin and Jonathan to recognize their commitment and achievements in keeping their community safe.
According to Arbour Vista PS, earlier this year, Justine and Jonathan acted quickly when they noticed a kindergarten student was left off the bus in error. The kindergarten student was upset and was unable to explain what had happened. The brothers located the bus tag on the student’s backpack and were able to locate her parent’s contact information. Doing the responsible thing, one of the brothers stayed with the student while the other ran home to inform their mom what had happened.
The quick thinking of these students allowed the kindergarten to remain calm and eventually reunite with her family.
Representatives from CAA, the Guelph Police Service Deputy Chief, Police partners and UGDSB Trustee Jolly Bedi were at Arbour Vista PS to watch Justin and Jonathan be recognized for their commitment to safety.
Congratulations!
