GUELPH, Ontario – Students at Arbour Vista Public School had the opportunity to learn about the different pathways offered to them in a unique way.

On February 27, the school’s 7/8 Guidance Counsellor set up a fun “escape room” activity to teach students about five pathways available to them.

The five pathways that were the focus of the activity were college, apprenticeship, university, workplace and community living.

Students were split into three groups and given a series of clues that they had to solve in order to unlock a variety of locks that were placed in boxes. There was a total of five locks that needed to be opened. Each opened locked revealed a clue about one of the pathways.

During the activity students had to demonstrate effective communication and collaboration in order to archive their goal of getting into the box before the time was up.
