2014 EQAO test results released for Grade 9 Math

GUELPH, Ontario (September 24, 2014) – Grade 9 math students in the Upper Grand District School Board outperform many of their peers across the province, according to test results released by the province’s Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO).

All elementary schools closed Friday December 14 for one day teacher walk out

GUELPH, Ontario (December 11, 2012) — The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario ETFO has notified the Upper Grand District School Board that they will walk out of the schools on Friday, December 14, 2012 in protest over Bill 115, the Putting Students First Act passed by the provincial government this summer.

Primary and Junior EQAO results released

GUELPH, Ontario (September 17, 2014) – Upper Grand grade 6 students made gains in Reading and
Writing but results in other areas did not improve over last year,
based on the Education Quality and Accountability Office’s (EQAO)
assessments of how well they know the curriculum. Test scores in
Mathematics dropped at both grade levels compared to the previous year,
and in grade 3 results slipped in Reading and Writing skills.

WHSS students advance to boardwalk as runner-ups to Layton award

MOUNT FOREST (October 22, 2012) — Wellington Heights Secondary School is a runner-up in the annual Jack Layton Award for Youth Action in Sustainability. The school was recognized for the efforts of grade 10 students in the Community Environmental Leadership Program (CELP) who built a boardwalk at Luther Marsh.
