Upper Grand educator receives honourary life membership for his contributions to public education
GUELPH, Ontario (November 19, 2010) — Doug Morrell, Superintendent of Education for the Upper Grand District School Board, has been awarded Honourary Life Membership in the Ontario Principals’ Council (OPC), the voluntary organization representing 5,000 Ontario principals and vice principals in public elementary and secondary schools. Doug served as the OPC’s President in 2009-10.
Upper Grand Grade 10 Students Succeed on Literacy Test
GUELPH, Ontario (June 13, 2012) – Consistent with last year’s results, 84% of grade 10 students eligible to write the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) for the first time were successful this year. Once again, the board’s results were higher than the provincial average which came in at 82%.

Upper Grand District School Board approves Full Day Kindergarten Capital Plan
GUELPH, Ontario (September 28, 2011) — The Upper Grand District School Board has approved in principle a capital plan to complete, by September 2014, the construction of classrooms required for full day kindergarten (FDK) students, and to deal with projected enrolment increases in high growth areas.

Upper Grand Board and teacher win Environmental Sustainability Awards
GUELPH, Ontario (May 3, 2011) — The Upper Grand District School Board and Montgomery Village Public School teacher Ann Fenton won Environmental Stability Awards presented by the Town of Orangeville in the group and individual categories. The awards were presented at the Town of Orangeville Council meeting on Monday May 2 by the Orangeville Sustainability Action Team (OSAT).
