Trustees vote to proceed with Edward Johnson P.S. Boundary Review

GUELPH, Ontario (November 23, 2011) – Trustees on the Upper Grand District School Board have directed staff to proceed with a boundary review for Edward Johnson Public School. Enrolment projections indicate the JK-6 French Immersion school will be 300 students over capacity when Full Day Kindergarten (FDK) is implemented at the school in September 2013.

Trustee Mark Bailey moves up at provincial association

Board, was elected 1st Vice-President of the Ontario Public School Board
Association (OPSBA) on June 8, 2013 at the organization’s annual
general meeting in Huntsville.

Trustees approve boundary for new Lee Street school

GUELPH, Ontario (May 25, 2012) — The boundary has been set for a proposed new JK-8
elementary school in the east end of Guelph, taking effect in September
2013. Trustees approved the school’s attendance area at their meeting on
May 22.

Trustee Mark Bailey elected VP of provincial association

GUELPH, Ontario (September 27, 2012) — Mark Bailey, vice-chair of the Upper Grand District
School Board, has been elected 2nd vice-president of the Ontario Public
School Boards’ Association (OPSBA). The organization represents public
school boards and school authorities that serve 1.3 million students
across the province.

Superintendent of Education appointed

GUELPH, Ontario (December 7, 2011) – Bonnie Talbot, an educator with 22 years of experience in the Upper Grand District School Board and former Dufferin County Board of Education, has been appointed as Superintendent of Schools effective February 1, 2012. She replaces Superintendent Rosemary Fyfe, who retires January 31, 2012.
