Students take eating locally to new heights

GUELPH, Ontario (May 6, 2009) — Could you go without coffee or chocolate for 10 days? These are just two things that the Grade 12 Headwaters class lead by Centennial teacher, Michael Elrick, will not be eating as they take on their local version of the 100 Mile Diet – The Headwaters 100 Mile Challenge.

Student trustees appointed for the 2011-2012 school year

GUELPH, Ontario (April 28, 2011) — Jordan MacDougall, a student at Norwell District Secondary School and Emileigh Sampson, a Guelph Collegiate and Vocational Institute student have been appointed by the Upper Grand District School Board to serve as its student trustees for the 2011-12 school year.

Students hear that languages can open doors

GUELPH,
Ontario (May 28, 2012) — More than 300 French Immersion students from grades 9 to 12
heard first-hand how a second language can open up career opportunities
when the Languages Department at John F. Ross C.V.I. held their first
Career Fair on May 17.

Elementary Schools participated in the 5th Annual UGDSB Skills
Competition at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex in Fergus.
