Literacy test results released

GUELPH, Ontario (September 25, 2013) — Secondary students in Upper Grand high schools who
were eligible to write the EQAO Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test
(OSSLT) this year have achieved an 82% success rate.

Local Students promote biodiversity in Guelph Art Showcase and launch event scheduled for January 4, 2010

GUELPH, Ontario (January 4, 2011) — GUELPH, Ontario — The da Vinci Arts & Science Environmental Leadership Program 2010 has completed a project designed to raise awareness and promote biodiversity in our community. This student-driven project has resulted in an exceptional showcase of biodiversity art which will appear on and in Guelph transit buses. This public display has been made possible by the City Of Guelph, Guelph Transit, Sambrook Media, the Gosling Foundation, and Lumichrom.

Making science and technology class inclusive

GUELPH, Ontario (December 6, 2013) — John Rupnow, a grade 7/8 science and technology
teacher at Elora Public School, was presented with the Ontario
Federation for Cerebral Palsy’s (OFCP) 2013 Professional Recognition
Award at the organization’s annual conference banquet on November 2.

Labour action begins today at Upper Grand schools

 LABOUR UPDATE GUELPH, Ontario (November 12, 2012) — Discussions between the Ontario Secondary School
Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF) and the Provincial Government have ended
without an agreement being reached. For Upper Grand schools that means
that sanctions by unionized members of five bargaining groups begin
today.

King George JK-8 FI Boundary Revew offers two distinct options

GUELPH, Ontario (October 12, 2012) — The King George JK-8 FI Boundary Review has come
forward with two distinct options to resolve projected overcrowding in
the French Immersion (FI) program at Victory PS. The scenario preferred
by staff will move FI grades 4 to 6 from Victory to King George. An
alternative scenario for consideration by trustees involves a boundary
change that will shrink Victory’s JK-6 FI attendance area.
