McCrae Day: GCVI to celebrate In Flanders Fields

John McCraeGuelph Collegiate Vocational Institute will hold an event to honour the school’s most celebrated graduate, Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, in marking the 100th anniversary of his famous poem In Flanders Fields. The event on June 3, 2015 will also mark the opening of McCrae Victory Arboretum on the grounds of the school.

Centennial CVI student chosen for Minister’s Advisory Council

WendyCentennial CVI student Wendy Wei has been selected to work with Education Minister Liz Sandals to make Ontario’s schools even better. Sixty students in grades 7 to 12 from across the province have been appointed to the Minister’s Student Advisory Council. The council is part of the Student Voice initiative, and students are chosen to provide a wide range of unique social, academic and economic perspectives.
