Rickson Ridge students learn trail building skills at Guelph’s Arboretum

On Sept. 20 and Sept. 21, 2017, intermediate students at Rickson Ridge Public School went to the Arboretum and the University of Guelph to learn some trail building skills.

Students at Rickson Ridge Public School are honing their skills in trail building and plant identification, while spending time in nature.

Ponsonby teacher promotes team building during first week of school

Grade 5/6 teacher, Josh Ellis, spent some of the first week back in the classroom promoting team building with his students. Students were tasked with the Hubba Bubba Challenge. In teams of five, students were given two oven mitts and one package of Hubba Bubba chewing gum.

Centennial CVI finishes its first AP calculus class

In June 2017, Centennial Collegiate Vocational Institute finished its first Advanced Placement Calculus course. This is the first AP Calculus course of its kind in the Upper Grand District School Board.
