CCVI students excel during AP exams

GUELPH, ON – Students in the Advanced Placement (AP) program at Centennial Collegiate Vocational Institute have excelled once again during their final exams for the 2023/2024 school year.

This year CCVI students wrote AP Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Calculus, and English Literature exams in May.

In of all these AP exams, CCVI students scored above the global average. According to CCVI teacher Ruth Tanner, “Our calculus students did particularly well, scoring an average score of 4.22 when the global average score was 3.22.”

In the world of AP classes, a score of 3 indicates a student has a high school level understanding of the topic covered, a score of 4 indicates a student is at first year university level, and a score of 5 indicates a student is higher than first year university level.

AP exams have been offered at CCVI for more than 20 years, offering students an opportunity to get university credits while in high school. The exam results for CCVI students were:
