Celebrating Learning, Wellness and Community – UGDSB celebrates Mental Health and Education Week

May 3, 2021

GUELPH, Ontario – This week is Mental Health and Education Week. Over the course of the last year, how we learn and take care of our mental health has changed and adapted to a virtual world. Part of Mental Health and Education Week will focus on a virtual celebration of all things learning, wellness and community.

This year’s theme is Celebrating Learning, Wellness and Community / Célébrant l’apprentissage, le bien-être, et la communauté.

The logo this year was designed by a Kortright Hills Public School student. Kyra B is a grade 8 student at the school. Her logo focuses on the important relationship between learning, wellness and community.

This year as a board and community, we are recognizing the partnership between education and mental health. During these stressful times, we know that many students, staff and families are struggling with their well-being due to so many unknown factors.

Throughout the week, we will be sharing examples of how UGDSB students and staff have been incorporating wellness and community into digital learning.

Be sure to follow #UGMEWeek for all updates this week!
