Centennial CVI students participate in AP exams

August 24, 2021

GUELPH, Ontario – Centennial Collegiate Vocational Institute has been offering students in grades 11 and 12 the opportunity to participate in Advanced Placement (AP) exams for over 25 years.

This past school year, despite the challenges of pivoting to an online format, students at the school continued to excel during the exams in May.

Each year, AP exams are written in May by students in grade 11 or 12, when a student achieves a certain score on the exam they gain a university credit for a Canadian university.

This past school year, 27 students at CCVI wrote at least one AP exam. From this group, 11 students received scores of level 4 or 5 on one or more exam. As a group, 70% of the exams received a score of level 3 or above.

Despite the challenges of the timed online exam, students succeeded in subjects like Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Calculus.

Great job to all the CCVI students who participated in these exams in May.
