Centre Dufferin DHS art project to encourage community building

November 10, 2017

SHELBURNE, Ontario – Students in Shelburne are marking Canada 150 by creating an iconic Canadian item.

On November 3, students and staff at Centre Dufferin DHS commemorated Canada’s 150th year since confederation by designing, building and painting Muskoka chairs.

The school received a grant to commemorate Canada 150 and decided to use the money for a student and staff art project. Designing and building the chairs helped reinforce the importance of teamwork and community within the school.

These chairs will be displayed around the school to encourage community building through social interaction.
