Centre Dufferin DHS welcomes Denis Vachon for equity workshops

SHELBURNE, Ontario – Canadian athletic coach Denis Vachon visited Centre Dufferin District High School on May 9 to host several workshops with students.

Born in Sudbury, Ontario, Vachon is the National Coach for tumbling and trampoline in Canada.

Vachon identifies as LGBTQ and while visiting the school he spoke to students about his experiences as a professional athlete and how identifying as LGBTQ influenced him in his career. His workshops focused on educating students about how they can be allies and how they can follow their own path in athletics and elsewhere.

Students and staff truly felt the words of Vachon and his presentations received lots of positive feedback at the school.
