Congratulations Upper Grand students on the 2023-24 school year!

June 27, 2024

To all UGDSB students,

As we approach the end of the 2023/2024 school year, we wanted to say congratulations to each of you for your efforts this school year. We are grateful to have such dedicated students at the Upper Grand District School Board.

Like most years, this year has been unique, presenting us with different obstacles and opportunities to rise above adversity. This year Upper Grand students demonstrated resilience, adaptability, and perseverance, all while maintaining strength, inclusivity and individuality while continuing to find their path.

This year students continued to make academic achievements, participate in creative endeavors, and show acts of kindness to their peers, school staff and community members. Each of these milestones is a testament to your talent, dedication, and commitment to becoming lifelong learners.

As you prepare to embark on the summer break, we encourage you to take time to reflect on the lessons learned, the friendships made, and the experiences that have shaped you this school year. Cherish the memories you’ve created, celebrate your accomplishments, and embrace the opportunities that lie ahead with enthusiasm.

Remember, education is not just about acquiring knowledge; it’s about nurturing curiosity, cultivating resilience, and empowering you to become compassionate, thoughtful, and engaged members and future leaders of society.

As a school board, we will continue to prioritize your foundational education, love of learning, health and well-being, equity and sustainability as we continue our focus on Vision 2026. The students at the UGDSB are the inspiration for all our work. As just one example, we look forward to the ongoing work in Human Rights that will continue in our board.

As you enjoy the summer break, take time to rest, recharge, and rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit. We hope you have time to connect with family and friends over the summer and look forward to the fall, where we will continue to help you Find Your Path. Let’s go!

Sincerely,

Ralf Mesenbrink
