CWDHS raises funds for breakfast program, food bank at Soup-Bowlympics
December 1, 2017
FERGUS, Ontario – It was a battle of the soups Friday at Centre Wellington District High School.
The school hosted the Soup-Bowlympics, a fundraiser for CWDHS’s breakfast program Wake Up Wellington and the Centre Wellington Food Bank.
The event was organized by CWDHS’s DECA students and saw many happy customers share a meal in the school’s cafetorium.
Twenty-five staff members made different soups and staff and students voted on their favourites. First place went to Mr. Mallany, second place to Mrs. Ritter, and the Student Services department took third.
The cost for lunch was either three items for the food bank or a $5 dontation, which included soup, a bun, juice and dessert.
The event raised $520 plus donations to the food bank.
