EQAO seeking students for 2018-19 Student Advisory Committee

GUELPH, Ontario – Are you a student who is interested in making a difference in improving EQAO assessments?

Ontario’s Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) is seeking representatives for its Student Advisory Committee for the 2018-19 school year.

The committee is a new group that helps foster conversations between EQAO and the province’s students. EQAO says it wants students’ voices to be heard, as EQAO works to improve its programs.

To be eligible to apply, students must be in grades 7-12 in the 2018-19 school year and must have participated in at least one EQAO assessment. Committee members serve a one-year term, attending two meetings in Toronto and one virtual meeting throughout the school year.

Applications are being accepted until May 31, 2018. Thirty students from across Ontario will be selected to serve on the committee.

How to apply:

  1. Complete the application form found on the EQAO website.
  2. Write an essay (maximum length 500 words) or create a video (maximum length 5 minutes) that explains why you want to be a member of the Student Advisory Committee. You should also describe a time when you contributed to positive change.
  3. Email a copy of your essay or video and your application form to [email protected] by May 31, 2018.
