GCVI community supports local organizations

April 21, 2020

GUELPH, Ontario – Over this past week, the Guelph Collegiate Vocational Institute community donated $3,000 to help support local organizations in our region. The goal of this donation is to help manage the task of dealing with the COVID-19 crisis.

The GAELS Foundation, a staff sponsored entity created to serve the school and local community, donated $1,500 to various organizations. $500 each was donated to the Guelph Food Bank, CMHA Waterloo – Wellington, and the Children’s Foundation. The donation to the Children’s Foundation was to help support their Fresh Food for Kids Campaign.

On top of this great donation, a student group at the school decided to donate money they had raised previously in the school year through a fundraiser. Chair’s of the student group Devon and Lily decided to donate $500 each to Wyndham House, CMHA Waterloo – Wellington and Lakeside Hope House.

Great job GCVI! We are proud of your generosity.
