GCVI Environmental and Equity clubs host clothing and book swap
December 9, 2019
GUELPH, Ontario – Students at Guelph Collegiate Vocational Institute have organized an event that focuses on sustainability and equity.
The school’s Environmental and Equity clubs have teamed up again to run the second annual Clothing & Book Swap.
Donations for the swap were collected from December 2 to 6 and the swap runs from December 9 to 11.
During the swap, donated items will stay out on the tables in the hallways all day, so students can come by and take what they need at any time. The swap also encourages a culture of sustainability through recycling and upcycling.
Any items remaining at the end of the swap will be donated to HOPE House, an organization that offers compassionate assistance to those in need in the community and challenges the stigmas surrounding poverty.
