Grade 6 girls at Sir Isaac Brock PS learn a lesson in code

October 15, 2018

GUELPH, Ontario – Grade 6 girls at Sir Isaac Brock Public School are learning to code in preparation for a “Hackathon,” which takes place on December 12.

The hackathon is sponsored by Hackergal, “a not-for-profit organization that introduces young girls across Canada to coding through the experience of a hackathon.”

The hackathon will take place in December and will group Canadian girls together to solve a problem using coding. Hackergal strives to inspire a new wave of Canadian female coders to shake up the demographic and bring equality to the booming industry.

Good luck to Sir Isaac Brock PS students and to all UGDSB students participating in the hackathon.
