Guelph Lake PS wins Recycle My Cell challenge

June 25, 2019

GUELPH, Ontario – Guelph Lake Public School has been named a winner in this year’s Recycle My Cell Earth Month Challenge.

To participate in this challenge, schools must register with Recycle My Cell and collect old and unwanted cell phones. The goal of the challenge is to reduce the number of cell phones that end up in landfills. Phones that are collected during the contest are sent for testing, refurbishing or recycling.

A grand prize of $500 is given to the winner and $1.00 for each cell phone that is collected.

During the month of April, Guelph Lake PS’s Eco Club worked hard to collect unwanted cell phones.

Schools from across Canada participated and Guelph Lake PS was named the provincial winner in Ontario.

Congratulations!
