Guelph Police accepting applications for Youth In Policing Initiative

GUELPH, Ontario – The Guelph Police Service is now accepting applications for its Youth In Policing Initiative. Applications are being accepted until Sunday April 22, 2018.

The Youth In Policing Initiative was created in 2006 and is partially funded by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services. The program provides students with an educational summer working experience and a firsthand look at police work in Guelph.

Students in the program gain experiences in many divisions of the Guelph Police Service including, Canine, Communications, Traffic, and the Tactical Unit.

This initiative provides students with a full-time paid summer position, the opportunity to become CPR and First Aid certified, education to develop leadership skills and so much more.

Students applying for the position must be a resident within the City of Guelph, must be between the ages of 15 and 18 and must be returning to school in September 2018.
