Hundreds of eager job seekers from across Guelph-Wellington-Dufferin to benefit from employment fair

When: Tuesday, May 14, 2019 9:30am-12:30pm

Where: The Grand Guelph Banquet & Event Centre, Guelph

Who: Coordinated by The Upper Grand District School Board and Wellington Catholic School Board (with community partners) to connect students completing grades 11 and 12 with local employers offering employment opportunities.

Partners: Upper Grand District School Board, Upper Grand District School Board Specialist High Skills Major program, Wellington Catholic District School Board, Career Education Council, Second Chance Employment Counselling

What is it? Students who are completing grade 11 and 12 will gain connections to local employers who are hiring for seasonal or longer-term positions. Employers offering Canada Summer Jobs positions will also be invited to participate. Many employers attending are planning to accept applications and book interviews with qualified candidates that they meet at this event.

Importance: Students entering directly into the workforce will have the opportunity to make connections to local employers who are offering entry-level employment positions leading to fulfilling careers. Students looking for seasonal employment will also make valuable connections.

Students attending: Hundreds of students from grades 11 and 12 will be bused from secondary schools across Guelph/Wellington/Dufferin

9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Event is open to students
