Important Community Use of Schools update

GUELPH, Ontario – The Community Use of Schools (CUS) program will not be approving bookings for the 2021-2022 school year at this time. The Upper Grand District School Board has not decided on a start date for CUS as there are many factors to consider before we can open up our schools to public use.
The province has indicated that indoor Community Use of Schools (CUS) can restart in schools throughout Ontario. At this time, the priority of the UGDSB is to create a safe educational space for students and staff. CUS will be phased in as the UGDSB assesses safety and staff capacity to meet the community’s desire to use school facilities. These are extraordinary times and as school boards across Ontario prepare for a September opening, we are phasing in programming. For the time being, bookings of school space will not be approved until we can ensure a safe school environment for everyone; students, staff, and the public.
