Inclusion in a Connected World – UGDSB celebrates Media Literacy week

GUELPH, Ontario – November 6 to 10 is Media Literacy Week. This year’s theme is Inclusion in a Connected World.
The week is presented by MediaSmarts and the Canadian Teachers’ Federation and will focus on “diversity and inclusion online for children and teens.”
Media Literacy Week is designed to highlight how students can make digital environments more welcoming, as well as teach students how to use respectful dialogue online.
There are many resources online that teachers can use in the classroom or parents can use at home. Resources include:
- Digital Literacy Framework
- Get to know the concepts for media literacy
- Lessons that can be used in the classroom based on grade
- Media literacy games
- Videos
- Parenting resources and more
