Inside the TJRC: A centre that promotes staff wellness

May 17, 2019

The Terry James Resource Centre (TJRC) is the Upper Grand District School Board’s one-stop-shop for materials and resources for UGDSB staff. From the media centre and resource centre to 3D printing, virtual reality and online resources, the TJRC has everything staff need to succeed and pass that success on to UGDSB students. “Inside the TJRC” is an on-going series that will feature some of the amazing resources that the TJRC has to offer.

GUELPH, Ontario – As many staff in the Upper Grand District School Board already know, the TJRC is a fantastic centre for classroom resources, but did you know that it is also a centre with resources to promote staff wellness?

The TJRC has many resources to help support staff wellness outside of the classroom. These resources are available to staff for personal use. The TJRC has parenting books, resources for mental health and has recently acquired a series of books for kids about how to cope with tragedy.

The TJRC also has hundreds of Hollywood movies available to staff through the Learn 360 portal. If you are looking for a book or curious about whether or not the TJRC has a resource you might be interested in, the staff at the TJRC are happy to help.

With the school year ending soon, the TJRC is still available to staff over the summer, however the TJRC moves to summer hours for the summer.

Don’t forget to start your printing for September early in the summer, as wait times are to be expected toward the end of the summer.

Terry James Resource Centre Summer Hours:
Monday-Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Friday 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
