John McCrae PS hosts second annual Syrup in the City Festival

GUELPH, Ontario – The Syrup in the City Festival is coming back to John McCrae Public School on Saturday, March 24.

This is the second year that the festival will be held at the school. It’s a joint effort between John McCrae PS, Transition Guelph and the Upper Grand District School Board’s Community Leadership Program.

Last year the festival saw close to 1,000 visitors and this year they are hoping to see just as many. The event this year will feature the Montsberg Raptors Centre, Birds of Prey show – birds will be available for viewing and there will be two shows during the event.

The Funky Mama’s musical group will share a musical performance in the school’s library between 11:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.

Tables will be set up at the school featuring Guelph Urban Forest Friends, the Guelph Hiking Trail Club, the City of Guelph Parks Department and many more. Maple syrup products will also be for sale, products are coming from Snyder Heritage Farms.

Grade 7 and 8 students from John McCrae PS will be hosting a pancake breakfast for $5.00 per person. 

The event will be running at the school on March 24 between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., entrance to the event is by donation.
