Labour Update: No CUPE strike, regular school operations continue on Monday

November 20, 2022

On Sunday evening, Ontario’s Minister of Education, Stephen Lecce, announced that a tentative deal has been reached in negotiations between the province and CUPE Ontario. As such, all CUPE employees will report to work on Monday Nov. 21, 2022. 

Regular operation of schools will continue: All Upper Grand District School Board schools will remain open, as will child care centres and Before and/or After School Programs. Community Use of Schools will continue. 

REMINDER – INCLEMENT WEATHER: A reminder that, as with every winter, inclement weather conditions may result in bus cancellations and/or school closures. Decisions on buses and school operations due to inclement weather are made as soon as key information is available and no later than 6:30am the morning of. To check the status of school buses each morning visit www.stwdsts.ca, and to check the status of school closures visit www.ugdsb.ca.
