January 14, 2021

GUELPH, Ontario – The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) of Waterloo Wellington, in recognition of Bell Let’s Talk is launching a new Wellness Works Program for secondary students.

In partnership with the Upper Grand District School Board and Wellington Catholic School Board, CMHA will be offering secondary students a new series aimed at bringing students together through mental health awareness.

The first Wellness Works session is about Building Strong Connections and is being hosted January 28 from 5:00 – 6:15 p.m.

CMHA believes it is important to have strong and healthy relationships to help you live your best life. This includes a relationship with yourself and understanding how self-compassion affects how we interact with others.

As part of this session, YouthTALK members will lead and interactive and engaging group for students that includes activities and conversations that reflect on how we connect with ourselves and others.

The session will explore compassion, healthy relationships, supporting yourself and others while gaining practical skills to help bring self-compassion into your life.

Attendance at the sessions includes monthly prizes and the chance to earn some community service hours.
