National Microbiology Lab visits CCVI

GUELPH, Ontario – On October 22, the National Microbiology Lab visited students at Centennial Collegiate Vocational Institute to discuss level 4 containment of biological pathogens.
The presentation for students was an overview of Canada’s only level 4 containment lab, which is home to the Ebola vaccine. The presentation also showed students some of the work that this lab does for public health.
During the visit, students were encouraged to explore career pathways in the health sciences. To further discuss career pathway options, a CCVI graduate who works at the National Microbiology Lab was at the presentation to speak to students about her experiences.
