New technology challenge for UGDSB teachers to focus on tech integration in the classroom

April 4, 2018

GUELPH, Ontario – Technology coaches in the Upper Grand District School Board are launching a new challenge to help support students’ use of technology in the classroom.

Tech Quest 1.0 is both a technology challenge and a great opportunity for teachers to engage in an exciting new form of professional learning.

The challenge runs from April 16 to April 26, 2018.

Tech Quest 1.0 is a series of basic challenges that will cover useful Google Tools that are necessary for effective technology integration in the classroom. While the focus will be on learning for all, the challenge will focus on how to support learners who need to use technology in the classroom.

Challenges will encourage teachers to utilize their own resources and intentionally ease the transition from challenge to everyday classroom use.

Tech Quest 1.0 is primarily aimed at new learners of technology but is open for all.

Six challenges will be shared over nine days that can be done at the teacher’s own pace, in the setting of their choice. Support will be available throughout, and additional extension activities will be included.

For those who complete the challenges, there will be the opportunity to win one of many prizes including Chromebooks and Chromecasts.
