Newcomer Celebration to be held at Willow Road PS this fall

September 7, 2017

GUELPH, Ontario – An event to bring together newcomer families in the Guelph area will be held at Willow Road Public School this fall.

On Saturday September 16 from 2 to 4 p.m., the Guelph Refugee Sponsorship Forum is hosting a Newcomer Celebration.

All newcomer families are invited to attend and enjoy light food and refreshments, games and activities for the whole family, entertainment and more.

Event organizers are expecting a large crowd, as people from all cultural backgrounds and off all ages come together to celebrate.

Representatives from organizations including Immigrant Services Guelph-Wellington, Guelph Refugee Sponsorship Forum, Guelph Community Health Centre, Willow Road PS, SOW (Students Offering Welcome U of G), and the Multicultural Association of Guelph will attend.

Since January 2016, the Upper Grand District School Board has been fortunate enough to welcome many newcomer families to our communities and schools. We look forward to meeting new families this school year.
