October 13, 2017
PALMERSTON, Ontario – On October 12, Norwell District Secondary School students embarked on a race through the Palmerston community for the second annual Amazing Race challenge.
In total, 29 student teams participated in 11 challenges throughout Palmerston. Challenges ranged from dressing a doll at Teenie Tiny Tots, building a sub at Subway using safe food handling techniques, pulling a fire hose through an obstacle course, decorating cookies at the Palmerston Foodland, and many more challenges throughout the community.
Throughout the day, students created positive interactions with local businesses and proudly represented Norwell DSS.
In total, the participants raised $600 for the Canadian Red Cross to help aid in hurricane cleanup efforts.
The winning team was Leah and Taylor, who completed the race in just under two hours.
The event was a great success – students and staff look forward to hosting it again next year.
