OYAP in partnership with the Ministry of Labour to hold Skilled in STEM virtual event

GUELPH, Ontario – Parents, guardians and students are invited to “Skilled in STEM: Keeping the world moving” – a virtual workshop sponsored by the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) and the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development. 

The “Skilled in STEM: Keeping the world moving” event is described as “a trailblazing event that provides the necessary acknowledgment that individuals in skilled trades and STEM careers have been, and still are, heavily relied upon to keep the world moving during the COVID-19 pandemic.” The workshop will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2022, from 6 to 9 PM. 

This interactive virtual event will highlight opportunities in a number of careers, along with Youth Apprenticeship Programs/Pre-apprenticeship, to better assist students to make informed career choices.

The event will feature top industry executives as keynote speakers and panelists, career planning advice, free care packages for the first 500 registrants , games, prizes, surveys and more. 

This event will explore careers in skilled trades, such as: industrial, construction, transportation – and in STEM, science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
