Parkinson Centennial Eco Club wins sustainability award

April 30, 2019

ORANGEVILLE, Ontario – Students and staff from Parkinson Centennial Public School are being recognized for their commitment to the environment.

The PCPS Eco Club is this year’s winner of the Environmental Sustainability Award, presented by the Sustainable Orangeville Committee.

The award is presented annually to recognize those who have made a positive contribution to the environmental health of their community.

The Eco Club was honoured on Monday April 29 at the Orangeville Town Hall Council Chambers.

Earlier this year, Parkinson Centennial PS was recognized for its efforts in tackling the issue of textile waste. Through a fundraising drive, students collected more than 4,400 lbs of textiles to be recycled and diverted from the landfill. Congratulations to the PCPS Eco Club!
