PIC Spring Event to focus on developing impactful school councils

GUELPH, Ontario – The Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) is hosting their annual spring event on April 17 at Centre Wellington District High School.

The theme of this year’s event is Effective and Impactful School Councils. The evening will include a series of workshops to assist in engaging school communities and supporting student learning.

The agenda includes a variety of workshops on school council best practises with Brent McDonald, Lynne McInnis and PIC Volunteers.

There will be a session about the UGDSB’s parent app UGConnect with Bill MacKenzie, PIC website and resources with Kumudinie Kariyapperuma and social media guidelines with Heather Loney.

A mental health and well-being workshop is also being offered with the UGDSB’s Mental Health and Addiction Lead, Jenny Marino.

Food and refreshments will be served.
