On Monday Oct. 7, 2019, College Heights Secondary School hosted an All Candidates Debate with candidates running in Guelph in the federal election.

The candidates all had an opportunity to introduce themselves and their party’s priorities and then took turns answering questions from CHSS students.

There were a number of questions that hit at the things the youth themselves care about, including what the parties’ stances are on free speech, promoting the skilled trades, assisting students with IEPs and health care.

The CHSS cafeteria was full as students listened to each candidate provide their responses and offer how their party, if elected, would tackle a given problem.

The federal election is on Monday October 21, 2019.
