Students at Elora PS to be featured on Earth Rangers podcast

March 8, 2019

ELORA, Ontario – On February 28, students at Elora Public School in Michelle Youngblood’s and Jodi Lawson’s classes were interviewed for the Earth Rangers podcast.

Earth Rangers is a Canadian kids’ conservation organization whose goal is to protect animals. According to their website they are, “committed to instilling environmental knowledge, positivity, and the confidence to take action in every child in Canada.” Since starting, Earth Rangers has grown to be 190,000 members and are still growing every day.

The classes at Elora PS started listening to the Earth Rangers podcast this fall and were interested in making their own podcast. In an effort to find out more about how podcasts are made, the school’s librarian arranged a Skype call with Earth Ranger’s podcast producer, Stephan Richter.

Richter was so impressed with the enthusiasm of the students, he invited them to be involved with season 2 of the Earth Rangers podcast.

Since the Earth Rangers podcast is about animals, students were asked questions about animals and shared their favourite animal joke. Students were also given the opportunity to ask Earth Ranger Emma any animal questions they had, these questions may be answered in future episodes.

Stay tuned for the season 2 episode that features Elora PS!
