Summer STEAM opportunity for students in grades 10 and 11
November 5, 2021
Canadian students in grades 10 and 11 have an opportunity to attend a leading STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics) & Entrepreneurship program this summer.
Applications are now open for Shad – a month-long program in July where Canadian students spend time living on a university campus, engaged in hands-on labs, lectures, mentorship opportunities and other activities to help them spark new interests in STEAM and explore their future.
According to Shad Canada, “Students also get a chance to try their hand at social innovation. Shad’s signature real-world design challenge introduces students to design thinking and entrepreneurship so they can solve a real-world problem with an innovative business idea.”
Interested students in grades 10 and 11 are encouraged to submit an application to the program. Applications are open until December 6, 2021. The program will run from July 3 to July 29, 2022. There is a fee to participate in the program but there is no fee to apply. According to Shad, financial assistance is available for students who demonstrate financial need to cover full or partial program fees.
