The UGDSB heads outside for Take Me Outside Day

October 23, 2019

GUELPH, Ontario – October 23 is Take Me Outside Day and the Upper Grand District School Board joined hundreds of other Canadian school boards by taking learning to the outdoor classroom.

In 2011, Take Me Outside Day was created as a result of Colin Harris, the Executive Director of Take Me Outside, running over 7,600 kilometres in Canada. During his run, he had the chance to visit 80 schools and meet with thousands of students to talk about the importance of spending time outside.

Students in the Upper Grand DSB participated in many outdoor activities on October 23 including nature art, scavenger hunts, fitness circuits, writing outside, counting things they found in nature and so much more.
