UGDSB BASP Survey – for parents/guardians of students currently in JK-Gr 5 at schools that do not currently have a BASP

January 5, 2021 

GUELPH, Ontario – Starting January 5, a Before and/or After School Program (BASP) survey will be opened for parents and guardians of new JK/SK students registering for September 2021, as well as children currently registered in Junior Kindergarten to grade 5.  

This survey is intended to gather information about the number of families who need before and/or after school care starting in September 2021. The survey only lists schools that do not currently offer a program and only parents requiring care at these schools are asked to complete the survey (one per family). The survey will close at the end of January.  

Please note that BASPs within Upper Grand DSB are not board-operated programs and are offered by Third Party Operators. Completion of the survey does not guarantee that a program will be offered at your child’s school and does not place them on a waiting list.   

Information from the survey about before and/or after school needs is helpful when determining the viability of a new program and it is important to note that the addition of a new program is reliant on the ability of a Third Party Operator to provide these services.
